CVS Health is opening a new community resource and workforce development center in Baton Rouge

Specialized staff to offer comprehensive training in skills and job placement, as well as comprehensive health care services

BATON ROUGE, LA, APRIL 25, 2024 CVS Health (NYSE: CVS) today announced the opening of a new community resource and workforce development center designed to help the Baton Rouge community overcome labor barriers and increase access to local health services.

Located at 5353 Essen Lane, the facility includes a Workforce Innovation and Talent Center (WITC), which provides comprehensive career skills training and job placement that includes a mock CVS Pharmacy store, a simulated pharmacy environment and authentic hands-on practice at your local CVS Pharmacy. locations It also includes a new Community Resource Center (CRC) supported by Aetna Better Health of Louisiana, a CVS Health company. This summer will mark three years of CVS Pharmacy locations in Baton Rouge serving as host sites for summer externs enrolled in the MYWE program. By partnering with Big Buddy to source MYWE talent, CVS Health has made it possible for more than 50 Baton Rouge high school students to receive quality summer work and extracurricular experiences.
